Wisconsin Man Arrested in Osceola County After Ramming State Police Vehicle

State Police troopers arrested a Wisconsin man January 15 after he eluded police for two days.

A trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Cadillac Post was assisting the MSP Seventh District Fugitive Team locate a wanted suspect. The trooper conducted a traffic stop of an older model Dodge pickup truck January 13 around 11:20 a.m. on Maple St. in Missaukee County’s McBain. The driver exited the vehicle and was speaking with police. The trooper was attempting to identify the passenger inside the truck, who refused to provide any identification. When the trooper asked him to take the keys out of the ignition, the passenger slid over to the driver side and fled the scene.

The trooper pursued the truck. The suspect rammed the patrol vehicle twice, the second time causing it to swerve into a ditch and disabling it.

The truck was eventually found abandoned in Osceola County’s Marion. The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Jonah Vaughn. He was arrested after leaving a residence in Marion.

Charges against the suspect are currently pending.
