Man Charged with Murder in Saginaw Store Shooting

A man accused of killing an employee of the K &D Market on South Jefferson Avenue in Saginaw has been officially charged.

Cetrice Bownes is charged with first-degree murder and several felony weapons offences for allegedly shooting 40-year-old Tyrone Cannady to death on April 29. Police and fire crews responded to the store for a report of a small fire, which firefighters were able to extinguish. They discovered Cannady’s body inside.

Bowens is being held in the Saginaw County Jail without bond. His next court appearance is May 23.
