Three Charged in Flint Township Man’s Death, Setting Fire to Body
The death of a Flint Township man who went missing February 4 has led to charges against three suspects.
31-year-old Beinville Alexander III of Flint, 29-year-old Maranda Ide of Flint and 31-year-old Trevyan Harris of Flint Township are charged with numerous felonies, including murder, arson, mutilating a dead body and tampering with evidence. Police discovered the body of 34-year-old Daniel Vaughn on February 16 in the 1700 block of Marlowe Dr. He had been shot and his body burned.
Police believe Alexander and Vaughn were in a dispute over Alexander’s girlfriend, Ide, and say he shot Vaughn, then enlisted the help of Ide and Harris to conceal the murder by burning the body. The suspects are being held in the Genesee County Jail.
The charges against the suspects are:
Alexander:
- Homicide
- Felony firearm
- Second-degree arson
- Dead bodies – disinterment and mutilation
- Concealing the death of an individual
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Felon in possession of a firearm
- Arson – preparation to burn property $1,000 or more but less than $20,000
- Tampering with evidence – criminal case punishable by more than 10 years
- Conspiracy to commit dead bodies – disinterment and mutilation
Ide:
- Conspiracy to commit dead bodies – disinterment and mutilation
- Accessory after the fact to a felony
- Tampering with evidence – criminal case punishable by more than 10 years
- Concealing the death of an individual
- Dead bodies – disinterment and mutilation
Harris:
- Accessory after the fact to a felony

- Tampering with evidence – criminal case punishable by more than 10 years
- Aiding and abetting second-degree arson
- Aiding and abetting arson – preparation to burn property – $1,000 or more but less than $20,000
