Storms Wreak Havoc Across Mid-Michigan

A line of thunderstorms across Michigan on Tuesday, September 7 produced strong winds, ping-pong ball size hail in some areas and prompted tornado warnings in several counties.

Consumers Energy has reported close to 50,000 homes and businesses across the state are without power. It’s the third such storm system to hit Michigan in only a matter of weeks.

In the Great Lakes Bay Region, Saginaw County has 10,896 outages, with most of them in the Saginaw area. Consumers reports 1,259 in Bay County and 1,279 in Midland County. The company has crews working to restore power across the state, so restoration times will vary by location.
