Man Sentenced in 2019 Tuscola County Murder, Assault

A Tuscola County man has been sentenced in the murder of his girlfriend nearly a year ago.

Larry Lyons was convicted of first degree murder in October for the stabbing death of 35-year-old Brandy Dickson in Caro on December 15, 2019. Lyons was also found guilty of charges of second- and third-degree child abuse and assault with intent to murder. Those charges stem from Lyons stabbing their 11-month-old child in the head. Dickson attempted to protect the child while they were being assaulted, according to police. The child survived the attack.

Dickson will spend life in prison without the possibility of parole.
