A man confronted at the Bay City Walmart in an online video is not and has never been a Saginaw police officer, according to the Saginaw Police Department.

The video has gone viral online, where the person shooting the video accuses the man of planning to meet with a 15-year-old girl. The video, titled Fake Cop Busted and Confronted, was posted Sunday, February 17 and has already been viewed more than 6,700 times.

The filmer confronts the subject, identified as James McNally, who claims he is a reserve police officer for the Saginaw PD. Detective Sergeant Matt Gerow with the Saginaw Police says there is not and has never been a James McNally who worked for the Saginaw Police Department. Gerow says McNally was arrested by state police in Bridgeport Township, who had active warrants for his arrest.

The state police will investigate any other possible crimes McNally may have committed.
