Former Employee of Bridgeport Township Business Charged with Embezzlement

A former employee of AIS Equipment in Bridgeport is facing embezzlement charges. Bridgeport Township Police said 49-year-old Victoria Bella Wagner of Owosso, who also goes by the last names Smith and Sumbera, was arraigned Friday and charged with a 10-count felony warrant, including embezzlement over $1,000 and under $20,000.
Police said the charges relate to a period between July and December of 2020, when Wagner worked at AIS, which rents large construction equipment. They said she handled payments to the business both in cash and checks.
Wagner is out on bond and will next appear in court for a preliminary hearing.
