Elderly Man Carjacked in Tuscola County

A hitchhiker became a carjacker the afternoon of Thursday, February 4 in Tuscola County after allegedly stealing an elderly man’s car.

Police say the elderly man picked up the suspect near the Hasco Road Trailer Park south of Vassar. The suspect asked the man to turn into a driveway near a barn before police say he pulled out a crowbar and ordered the man from the vehicle, a 2009 gray Dodge Journey with the license plate number B-Z-V-9-1-6. The suspect left the scene in the vehicle.

The suspect is described as in his early 20s with medium length blond hair and a medium build. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information about the incident or suspect is asked to call (989) 673-8161.
