Delta College Offers Motorcycle Safety Course for New Riders

Delta College is offering a 20-hour motorcycle safety course for new riders. The Motorcycle Safety program includes online safety training, classroom learning and practicing on motorcycles on Delta’s main campus.

Riders who successfully complete the course can waive the skills and knowledge test requirement to obtain a motorcycle endorsement. Michigan law requires a motorcycle endorsement on a driver’s license to legally ride a motorcycle on state roads. Half of all motorcycle fatalities in Michigan involve riders who are not properly licensed, according to Michigan State Police and the Office of Highway Safety Planning .

Registration is available for sessions in April through August, during the week or on the weekend. The fee is $50; Delta provides the motorcycles. You can register or learn more on the Delta College website: www.delta.edu/motorcycle
