Covenant, Mary Free Bed Expand Joint Venture

Covenant HealthCare and Mary Free Bed are expanding their 50-50 joint venture. The partnership currently includes a 41-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit. Under the expansion, four more areas will be added, including both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, orthotics and prosthetics, rehabilitation physician services and the Covenant Center for Autism. Mary Free Bed at Covenant will also provide therapy for patients hospitalized for general acute care treatment and transitional care therapy through the covenant HealthCare skilled nursing program.

Covenant president and CEO Ed Bruff said “After beginning the inpatient rehabilitation joint venture almost two years ago, it made sense to join together all rehabilitation services. The sole focus of Mary Free Bed is to restore hope and freedom through rehabilitation, and our partnership will continue having an extraordinary impact on patients.”
