Bay County Expands COVID-19 Vaccine Access

As The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) expands vaccine eligibility for those 50 years of age and older with medical conditions and disabilities, as well as caregiver family members and guardians who care for children with special health care needs starting Monday,  The Bay County Health Department is asking residents age 50 and older to fill out the Registration Survey for the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible. Those without access to the internet may register by calling 989-308-1828 to leave a message and a Bay County employee will return the call to register you for the vaccine.

The Bay County Health Dept. said there are still people in the 65 and older population in Bay County who have registered for a vaccine appointment and have not yet been contacted. The BCHD will continue to prioritize registrants 65 years of age and older, but will provide scheduling opportunities to those in the 50+ age group as vaccine supply allows.

The BCHD said vaccine supply is increasing but still does not meet the demand.  Vaccine supply is expected to continue to increase in the coming weeks.
