Police Identify Pedestrian Killed In Mt. Morris Township Crash

A 62-year-old Mount Morris Township man was killed Monday after being struck by a car.

Police say Donald Davis was pushing a wheelbarrow across the street in the 3100 block of West Carpenter Road around 5:00 P.M. Witnesses on the scene told police a silver Chevy Cobalt was driving at excessive speed and ran a red light at Carpneter and Clio roads before striking Davis. According to police, Davis remained attached to the vehicle until the driver, a 64-year-old Flint man, lost control of the car and struck a utility pole, snapping it in half.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to Hurley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. No charges have been filed at this time, though police are waiting for the results of a toxicology report.
