Charlie and Mike and Jonathan and YOU:     Fat Tuesday is tomorrow!   For Mardi Gras in New Orleans, they are having a bead problem…..

FILE - Trash lines the gutter on Bourbon Street, in the early hours of the morning after Mardi Gras, in New Orleans, Feb. 18, 2015. It’s a beloved century-old Carnival season tradition in New Orleans — masked riders on lavish floats fling strings of colorful beads or other trinkets to parade watchers clamoring with outstretched arms. It's all in good fun but it's also a bit of a “plastics disaster,” says Judith Enck, a former Environmental Protection Agency regional administrator and president of the advocacy group Beyond Plastics. Wake Up Song of the Day:     The Spinners “The Rubberband Man”.   It’s a “Songs that Peaked at #2 Monday”!   Every Monday, we play a song that you may think hit #1, but never did.   Or, perhaps you thought this song never did as well to reach #2!   In 1976, the song was the first of two for the Spinners that peaked at #2 (along with “Working My Way Back to You” in 1979).   The Spinners never had a #1 song on their own.   They did hit #1 in 1974, teaming up with Dionne Warwick, and the song “Then Came You”.   However, “The Rubberband Man” did top the R&B Chart.   It was kept off the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks by Rod Stewart’s “Tonight’s the Night”.
