Tuscola County Sheriff’s Deputy Injured in Crash

A Tuscola County Sheriff’s Deputy suffered minor injuries when his vehicle was struck on the side of the road Sunday afternoon.

The Sheriff’s Office says Deputy Kyle Bischer was investigating a crash on M-81 in Elkland Township shortly after 5:30, when an oncoming 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix hit a patch of slush in the road and lost control. According to police, the car crossed the centerline and struck the driver side of the patrol vehicle, where Bischer was seated. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Grand Prix, an 18-year-old from Reese, was arrested by Michigan State Police. Formal charges had not been announced as of Monday morning.
