Toddler Dies in Isabella County Crash

A crash Saturday, December 4 in Isabella County claimed the life of a three-year-old boy.

Police say the crash occurred around 12:45 p.m. near the intersection of Remus and Lincoln roads. An Isabella County Sheriff’s deputy witnessed the crash and immediately went to assist, performing medical treatment until EMS arrived on the scene. A 37-year-old woman driving the vehicle and a 12-year-old girl suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The three-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Another boy in the back seat had to be transported to Devos Children’s Hospital where he’s listed in critical condition.

The 33-year-old driver of a 2008 Ford Pickup, a Union Township man, refused medical treatment.

Preliminary reports indicate an improper turn at the intersection was the likely cause of the crash, which remains under investigation.
