Mail Truck Crash And Fire Under Investigation

Frankenmuth police and fire crews responded around 2:20 Wednesday afternoon after a US Postal vehicle was reported on the side of the road on fire. An Eye witness claims the carrier had escaped the vehicle near South Gera Road and East Townline. The mail truck had struck a tree and then caught fire. The carrier was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators are still determining the cause of the crash. The mail truck and contents were a total loss.
