This year’s Great Lakes Bay Region Chamber Summit gathered community leaders and supporters earlier Today to recognize local growth.

Saginaw, Bay, Midland, and Isabella County Chamber leaders met with businesses and supporters to share how much progress has been made in the area last year.

After a run down of achievements, the 2019 Quality of Life award was awarded to the Saginaw Children’s Zoo, for their community relationships, development, and involvement.

Live Oak Coffeehouse and Isabella Bank took home the small and large business awards respectively,

Businessman & Community Activist Scott Carmona won this year’s Individual award.

The Summit was wrapped up by a keynote address from Consumers Energy President and CEO Patti Poppe, who discussed Michigan’s energy Solar energy future and how the state can avoid building three new, expensive, power plants.
