Bay City Commissioner Charged with Domestic Violence

A Bay City Commissioner has been charged with domestic violence for allegedly assaulting her sister.

Authorities say that Third Ward Commissioner Andrea Burney was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly assaulting her sister during an argument at family gathering.

Burney was granted a personal recognizance bond by Bay County District Magistrate Janice M. Doner, and was ordered not to have contact with her sister while the case was pending. If convicted, Burney could face up to 93 days in jail.
