Argument Ends In Shooting And Arrest

On Friday, May 28, 2021 around 11:30pm, officers from the Bay City Department of Public Safety were dispatched to the area of Madison Avenue and Columbus Avenue for reports of gunshots. Officers located a 47-year-old man, who was visiting from Georgia, at a house in the 600 block of 11th Street. The man had a gunshot wound and officers began providing medical aid.
The investigation revealed that an argument between two acquaintances began after they had been drinking. During the altercation, a gun was fired, striking the victim. The victim was taken to McLaren Bay Region for initial treatment, then transferred to another hospital for more advanced care. The victim is currently listed in stable condition. The suspect, a 50-year-old Bay City resident, was arrested and lodged at the Bay County Jail on multiple charges related to this incident.
