Suspected Arson Damages Buena Vista Home Days After Fatal Shooting

Authorities are investigating a suspected arson at a home in Buena Vista Township where a man was shot on Friday.

According to police, fire crews responded to the house in the 600 block of South 24th Street around 3:30 Monday morning and extinguished a fire that had started on the porch. Investigators say there was a strong smell of gasoline near where the fire started, and footprints leading away from the home to the road. Officials say the residents were not home at the time of the fire.

Friday night, 33-year-old Toriano Rueda was shot and killed by two suspects while leaving a family gathering at the home. No suspects are in custody at this time. Anyone with information is urged to call the Buena Vista Township Police Department.
