Owosso Man Crashes Vehicle After Police Chase
A 42-year-old Owosso man was arrested Thursday after a vehicle pursuit in Shiawassee County.
According to police, the suspect was driving a GMC Sierra north on Byron Road through Byron just before 5:00 P.M. Deputies recognized the man for his suspected involvements in multiple break ins and home invasions. When police attempted a traffic stop, the suspect fled the scene, leading police on a chase from Byron Road to Lansing Road. He eventually crashed into the M-71/I-69 overpass bridge barrier.
When deputies approached the vehicle, the suspect allegedly waved a claw hammer in a threatening manner. The Sheriffs Office stated that the suspect tried to jump off the barrier into oncoming traffic on I-69 but was stopped and taken into custody. He is currently held at the Shiawassee County Jail and is facing multiple felony charges.
