Police in Emmet County arrested a Sebewaing man Thanksgiving day after allegedly breaking into a home.

Police say the homeowner, who was not home at the time, received a call from his alarm company and saw the suspect, 36-year-old Ervin Spivey, on his home security cameras. Police responded to the home on West Beaver Road in Bear Creek Township, where they saw a garage entry door was open and damaged and a vehicle in the driveway. While waiting for backup to arrive, the suspect exited the house and police made an arrest without incident.

Spivey is held in the Emmet County Jail on a charge of third degree home invasion. His bond has been set at $5,000 and his next court date is December 14.
