SVSU Hosting Two Candidate Forums

Saginaw Valley State University is offering the public an opportunity to hear from candidates vying to represent Michigan’s 8th Congressional District and the 35th State Senate District.

The SVSU College Republicans, College Democrats, and Pi Sigma Alpha in collaboration with the Henry Marsh Institute for Public Policy are hosting candidate forums for the two districts today and next Monday from 6:45 to 8:00 P.M. Both forums will be held in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall in SVSU’s Curtiss Hall.

The October 3 event features Congressman Dan Kildee and Republican challenger Paul Junge. The forum will be moderated by Colette Boyd, WNEM TV5 news anchor, and Chad Livengood, politics editor and columnist at the Detroit News. October 10 features State Representative Annette Glenn and challenger Bay City Commissioner Kristen McDonald Rivet with questions from moderators Terry Camp, a reporter for ABC12, and Zach Gorchow, executive editor and publisher of Gongwer News Service Michigan.
