State Police Blue Campaign Aims to Reduce Human Trafficking

January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month and the Michigan State Police are promoting what’s known as the Blue Campaign.

They’re working alongside the Department of Homeland Security to raise awareness, support survivors, and investigate potential trafficking situations to bring traffickers to justice. According to DHS some indications of trafficking are disconnection from family friends and community, sudden dramatic changes in behvaior, signs of disorientation and appearing fearful, submissive or timid. Physical signs include bruises, signs of starvation or sleep deprivation.

To report suspected trafficking or to get help text help to 233733 or call 888-373-7888.
