No Threat Determined After Midland Bomb Scare

A Midland neighborhood was evacuated Wednesday out of an abundance of caution after a suspicious package was discovered at a residence.

Police were dispatched to a home in the 4000 block of Windmill Drive around 10:50 A.M. for a well being check, when they discovered the package inside the home. Several neighboring homes were evacuated as the state police bomb squad was called in to investigate. It was determined the package contained lithium ion batteries, which were not a threat to the public.

Residents were called back to their homes once it was deemed safe.
