Man Steals Police Car in Saginaw County
Police in Saginaw County arrested a man who they say stole a police vehicle yesterday and injured an officer.
Around 2:00 P.M., a Carrolltown Township officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plate. The man was put into the back of the patrol vehicle, though he somehow managed to get behind the wheel of the car. Police say the man fled the scene in the patrol car with its lights and sirens activated. Other agencies pursued the vehicle and boxed in in at a Saginaw Township motel parking lot. However, police say the man rammed a Zilwaukee police vhicle, injuring the officer inside. The officer was taken to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The suspect was arrested and is being held in the Saginaw County Jail.
