Iosco County Crash Kills Glennie Man, Trooper Nearly Struck

A state police trooper was nearly struck be a vehicle in Iosco County on Sunday.

Police say the trooper was conducting a traffic stop on west bound M-55 near Greenwood Road just before 7:00 P.M. when an east bound 2005 Jeep, driven by a 68-year-old Glennie man, nearly struck the trooper as it drove by at a high rate of speed. Police say the driver lost control and rolled the vehilce several times before it crashed into a ditch. The driver was killed at the scene.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle and no one else was hurt.
