Firefighters Injured In Genesee County Crash

Firefighters responding to a crash in Genesee County Wednesday ended up in an accident of their own.

Mount Morris Township Fire Chief Scott Hillerman says one his department’s trucks was responding to a crash on I-75 around 7:30 A.M. when a vehicle merging from West Mount Morris Road moved in front of the truck, which rear ended the car. The truck then hit a median wall before rolling over.

Five firefighters were injured, with two being sent to a hospital. However, Hillerman says all are expected to be okay. The driver of the car was given a citation and released.
