Health experts in Saginaw County are encouraged by early results from the Centering Pregnancy program.

That groups up to a dozen  women together with roughly the same due date so they can learn about proper prenatal care. Evan Paulus, Director of Operations for Central Michigan University Health in Saginaw, says the women share knowledge as they go through wellness checks.

Paulus added around 200 babies have been delivered under the program since it started locally in late 2016. He explained the ultimate goal is to improve birth outcomes, especially for minority
women.
