The Bay County Board of Commissioners recognized Joseph Schultz, Sr. Tuesday, June 11 for his lifelong dedication to giving back and faithfully serving the Pinconning area.  Schultz, who turns 95 in October, was genuinely surprised as he thought another family member was being honored.

Schultz moved with his parents from the Detroit area to northern Bay County in the early 1930’s. He helped establish a well known pharmacy that supported residents for decades. Schultz served in the Navy during World War II and also backed community events including ice carnivals along with the development of Pinconning Park.
