Bay City School Board Still Divided Over Janitorial Services

Bay City school board trustees remain deadlocked over who will handle district janitorial services with classes starting August 27th.
Separate motions to hire either a private contractor or up to 20 new workers to be employed by the district failed for lack of support Monday. Superintendent Stephen Bigelow says he may seek re-bids for one year, rather than the three years that were proposed.
He added work will be done for now by the current service provider Caravan, despite dissatisfaction expressed by some board members with the quality of classroom and building cleanliness.
