Youth Development Corporation Launches in Saginaw
A new education and training opportunity for young people is now available in Saginaw. The Youth Development Corporation opened its doors at 126 S. Weadock this past week, thanks to a $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. Executive Director Eric Eggleston said it offers a number of programs to help young people finish high school, get a GED, training in skilled trades, job placement and more.
The target age group is 16-24.
Eggleston said besides education and training, Youth Development Corporation offers wraparound services like counseling and daycare, to help students succeed. The programs are free for participants. Youth Development Corporation also has a partnership with the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department to offer the program at the county jail in the coming months.
