Lawmakers in Lansing are working on bills to lower the price per gallon of gasoline.

The legislation would temporarily eliminate the state’s 6% sales tax and 27-cent-per-gallon excise tax, saving drivers an estimated 40 cents to 50 cents a gallon.

The time period would be June 15 – September 15.
