Sept. 25 (UPI) — A 10-year-old chess player from Malaysia broke a world record in the sport by setting up a chessboard in only 45.72 seconds while blindfolded.

Guinness World Records announced Punithamalar Rajashekar, the star player on her school chess team, is the new record-holder for the fastest time to arrange a chess set blindfolded.

Rajashekar, who started playing chess at age 5, said she studied videos of previous record-holders to study their techniques before taking on the record.

The girl is a registered member of FIDE, the International Chess Federation.

“My dad is my coach,” she told Guinness World Records, “and we play together almost every day.”
