Wake Up Song of the Day:     Prince “When Doves Cry”.   It’s the Friday Flashback Song!   We “Flash Back” in 10-20-30-40-50-60-70 year increments to find Number One Songs at this time that are still remembered today, along with the artists and groups that perform.   Or, Number One Songs that are long forgotten, along with the artists and groups that perform.   It was 1984, and for 5 weeks, Prince was #1 (tied for the longest streak at #1 in 1984 with Van Halen and “Jump”).   It was his first #1, not to mention a worldwide hit song.   Prince wrote it, produced it, and played all instruments on the track.   It was the lead single from his most successful album, “Purple Rain”.   In 2016, after Prince’s death, “When Doves Cry” re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at #8.
