Woman Killed In Saginaw Shooting, Suspect Shoots at State Police

A woman was killed in a shooting in Saginaw Sunday night.
Saginaw Police and State Police troopers responded to the 1000 block of Cathay Street around 9:30 P.M. where police say the suspect, a 63-year-old man, fled with the 47-year-old woman in a vehicle. The suspect was stopped in the area of Holland Avenue and Outer Drive in Buena Vista Township. Police say the suspect fired at troopers, who returned fire. No one was injured in the exchange. The suspect was arrested and taken to jail while the woman was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The suspect is being held in the Saginaw County Jail awaiting arraignment.
