Woman Killed By Vehicle in Saginaw Is a Possible Homicide

A 21-year old woman has died after being hit by a car Tuesday, July 3 in Saginaw. The accident happened around 7:00 a.m. in the 1200 block of Throop St. near N. Mason. Police say Lela Diamond-Simons Long was the victim. Her body was found near the rear porch of a residence. A 62-year-old man was arrested and interviewed before being taken to the Saginaw County Jail. Several witnesses were also interviewed. Detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide, which would make it Saginaw’s ninth homicide of 2018.
