Woman Dies in Shiawassee County House Fire

Police and fire officials in Shiawassee County’s Hazelton Township are investigating the cause of a fire that killed a 51-year-old woman.
The fire occurred Friday, December 3 around 6:30 p.m. in the 8000 block of Durand Rd. Leann Parker was home at the time of the fire. Despite efforts of a neighbor who heard a smoke alarm coming from the house, and a passerby, Parker was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.
