Wind Turbine Language Discussed In Monitor Township

About 350 people attended the Monitor Township Planning Commission meeting Tuesday to share their concerns and provide in-put about possible changes to wind turbine ordinance language.

A moratorium on any wind turbine related development remains in place until a revised ordinance can be approved.

Residents largely supported the tough recommendations proposed by Township Supervisor Ken Malkin including no wind turbines near residential properties plus stringent standards for sound, shadow flicker and set backs.

Planning Commissioners could adopt any revisions at their August 14th meeting before sending them on to the Township board. .
