Vassar Officer Receives Minor Injuries In Crash While Responding to Another Crash

A Clio woman and a Vassar police officer suffered minor injuries in a crash Wednesday.
State police investigating the crash say the officer was responding to a crash between a car and a dump truck in Vassar Township at the corner of Saginaw and Van Buren roads around 3:00 P.M. The officer was heading west on Saginaw Road with their vehicle’s lights and sirens activated A 48-year-old Clio woman driving in front of the officer slowed and suddenly turned south onto Sheridan Road, according to police, which caused the crash. The officer and the woman both refused medical treatment.
The woman was cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle. Two people from the initial crash also suffered only minor injuries, according to police.
