Two Local Murder Trials End With Guilty Verdicts
A pair of murder trials in Saginaw County Circuit Court ended with guilty verdicts Friday.
28 year old Tavaris Williams will spend life in prison after being convicted of felony murder
and first degree child abuse. Williams had been charged by Saginaw Township Police in the death of his girlfriend’s three year old son Jordan “Baby J” Brown who was hospitalized January
1st, 2018 before being taken off life support January 5th. Sentencing is scheduled for August 27th.
Meanwhile, 63 year old Everette Green was convicted of second degree murder, but acquitted of assault with intent to commit murder and carrying a dangerous weapon. The charges stemmed from a July 3rd, 2018 car-bicycle crash near Throop and Mason in Saginaw. That resulted in the death of 21 year old Lela Diamond-Simons Long. Sentencing is scheduled for August 28th.
