Torture, Robbery Suspects Ordered to Undergo Psychiatric Evaluations

A pair of Saginaw men who allegedly held two others against their will are to undergo psychiatric evaluations, according to a Saginaw County District Court judge.

Randall Jurrens ordered the evaluations for Jontorrion Reed and Mitchell Ballard, who are accused of assault with intent to cause great bodily harm, murder, or strangulation and armed robbery. On January 5, the suspects allegedly took two people captive, holding guns to their heads. Police say the men forced the victims to fight each other. One of the victims was robbed and tortured.

A court date following the evaluations has not been set.
