Thomas Township Woman Stabbed, Another Woman Charged

A Thomas Township woman received life threatening injuries following a stabbing incident during a domestic dispute on Friday, August 13.
Police say 23-year-old Nikki Cortez attacked 25-year-old Dezarae Cummings, stabbing her multiple times. Cummings was taken to Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw.
Cortez is charged with assault with intent to murder. She’s being held in the Saginaw County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
Cummings has been transferred to a Grand Rapids hospital.
