The ROCK Center for Youth Development Announces Leadership Transition

The ROCK Center for Youth Development, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth, has announced a leadership transition. After 21 years of exceptional service, Beverlee Wenzel will step down as President and CEO.

Under her guidance, The ROCK has expanded from a modest program to a prominent out-of-school initiative serving students across Midland County and beyond. One of her key achievements is the founding of Discover You™, a transformative program that helps young people build developmental assets and reach their full potential. Discover You™ is currently active in 31 Michigan counties, six states, and two countries.

As Beverlee transitions into a new chapter, Tara Welch has been appointed as the new President and CEO, starting January 2025. Tara brings a wealth of experience in non-profits and education, aligning perfectly with The ROCK’s mission.
