Tens of Thousands of Dollars In Lighting Equipment Stolen in Huron County

Police in Huron County are investigating the theft of some expensive lighting fixtures from a local business.

The new business is in development and located in Kinde on M-53, according to the sheriff’s department. A representative from the buisness told police two of their storage containers had the locks cut and 100 two-section light fixtures, worth $800 each, were taken some time between 3:00 P.M. Tuesday and noon on Wednesday. The total dollar amount of the stolen material is around $80,000. Police say either two vehicles or one vehicle with a large trailer would be needed to move that many light fixtures.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Huron County Central Dispatch non-emergency number or the Huron County Sheriff’s Department.
