Teen Charged in Step-Sister’s Murder Unfit to Stand Trial

A 14-year-old Saginaw teen accused in the urder of his 10-year old stepsister has been declared incompetent to stand trial.

In September Jameion Peterson was charged with open murder after the body of 10-year-old Na’Mylah J. Turner-Moore was discovered. She had been reported missing. Based on reports from the Center for Forensic Psychiatry in Ypsilanti, a judge found Peterson unfit for trial and committed the boy to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

After six months, Peterson will be reassessed.
