Teen Blackmailed Over Nude Photos in Tuscola County

Police in Tuscola County are warning kids and parents about the dangers of posting inappropriate material online.

A 16-year-old girl was recently blackmailed after striking up a relationship with an online predator, according to police. The girl was asked to send nude photos and videos of herself and when she did, she was then told to send money or the material would be posted online. Police believe the suspect claimed to be someone they aren’t in order to convince the teen to send the material.

Police are warning kids to be careful what the post online or send over the internet. They liken sending nude photos and materials to firing a gun, saying once it’s out there, you can’t take it back.
