A confession by Joshua Rosebush, the man charged with shooting Saginaw Township Police Officer Jeff Koenig in the face during a traffic stop on January 22nd, was deemed appropriate to keep as evidence yesterday by Saginaw County Circuit Judge Andre Borello.
Rosebush made a confession to a Michigan State Police Detective, who recorded him saying “I shot him point blank in the face.” The confession was used in court in March. Rosebush’s attorney asked Judge Borello to exclude the confession, but the request was denied.
Rosebush is facing 28 charges, including assault with intent to murder, which carries maximum penalty of life in prison.
