Tall Ship Santa Maria Returns to Bay City

If you missed your chance to visit Bay City during the Tall Ships Celebration, one of the ships will be extending its stay.

The Nao Santa Maria is returning to Uptown Bay City’s docks, near the Dow Chemical Building from Friday, August 2 until Wednesday, August 7. Tours of the docked Santa Maria will be $10 for adults, $5 for children, $25 for families, and runs from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Santa Maria will be resting in Bay City while it waits to continue the rest of the Tall Ship Challenge Tour, a race where ships sail between ports and markers on the Great Lakes. The race began June 29 in Buffalo, New York and followed through to Cleveland and Bay City.

Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and several additional stops in Ontario have been listed as ports scheduled for visits.
