SVSU Board Approves Spending for Security, Campus Improvements

Saginaw Valley State University will see some campus and security improvements.

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance safety and security, SVSU will install nearly 200 additional security cameras and the necessary infrastructure during 2024 at a cost of about $1.1 million. SVSU currently has nearly 300 security cameras in place across campus.

Other improvements include new lighting at the Malcom Ford Theater, Black Box Theatre and Rhea Miller Recital Hall; volleyball and women’s soccer team locker room renovations; replacing the air handling system and installing air conditioning for Hamilton Gymnasium; and Replacing the chiller piping for the Doan Science East building. The additional renovations are expected to cost about $3.5 million.
